Leadership companies know that there is more than one bottom line that defines success in today’s world. Beyond financial performance metrics, environmental stewardship and support for employees and the communities in which they live and work are also part of a company's success.
We have a great team of employees, many of whom have been with us for more than 20 years. They take seriously that, when it comes to providing protection from radiation, perfect is the only option. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship is applied to every part, every component, every assembly we make for our customers.
In turn, we work hard to set the bar for the industry in terms of plant safety and ongoing employee education about the safe handling of lead. Our workforce is also exceptionally proud of Vulcan’s support of the Olympics USA Luge team, its ongoing relationship with the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and its involvement in arts and culture programs year-round.
Beyond ensuring financial health through its unwavering commitment to providing quality products and services to companies at reasonable costs, VulcanGMS has a strong reputation as an environmental steward. VulcanGMS is noted for its leading-edge air-lead recovery systems, a signature element of its manufacturing plants and its aggressive participation in defining best practices around safe lead handling and disposal.
Of particular note is the Lead Recycling Program that it conducts for its customers. Through a very specific and well-documented process, Vulcan will collect lead products designated for recycling and store them in covered, secured facilities. The lead is then transferred to an EPA-approved smelter, and the lead is reclaimed from the various items, leaving reprocessed lead that can be used to make new lead products. The professionals handling the lead adhere to EPA and other state regulations to avoid any potential for environmental contamination or mishandling of the product.
