Benchmarking

In order to demonstrate to customers our focus on continuous improvement, Vulcan benchmarks itself against leading companies. We evaluate rates of improvement in quality, delivery, responsiveness and more. For example, Cost of Quality (COQ), an important metric we use to track the progress of our continuous improvement efforts, decreased 48% in 2009 compared to 2008. In 2010, COQ decreased 30% compared to 2009.
